Betting Tips and Previews
Augsburg v Bayern (win and over 2.5 goals) @ $2.10 – WWK Arena, 11.30pm Saturday
The Bayern express is in full flight after their 6-0 demolition of Dortmund. It is expected that there will be some rotation for the midweek Champions League game against Sevilla but the FCB have more than enough quality to roll over Augsburg. Finnbogason could be back for the home side after eight games out, and I for one would welcome this, backing the over 2.5 goals margin. Bayern could also mathematically wrap up the league this weekend and with the strongest away record (unsurprisingly) I can’t see them not leaving with 3 points and a handful of goals in the process.
Roma (win) v Fiorentina @ 1.80 – Stadio Olimpico, 2.00am Sunday
With their Champions League run all but over the Giallorossi’s best shot at securing their place in the competition next year is to push on in the league where sit third, only a point above Inter and three ahead of Lazio. Roma have won their last 5 games against La Viola, scoring at least twice per game and this should continue in the capital with the big Bosnian getting on the scoresheet. Always a bit sceptical of spaghetti but this should be straight-forward for the home side.
Real Betis (win and over 2.5 goals) v Eibar @ 3.50 – Estadio Benito Villamarín, 2.30am Sunday
Betis have it all to play for in their hunt for European football and are in great form coming into this one. The entertainers have been involved in a lot of high scoring affairs averaging 3.43 goals per match and 73% of their home matches resulting in over 2.5 goals, making this one look decent value. Eibar on the other hand were looking good for a top seven finish but have hit a bit of a rough patch, with nothing to lose they will bomb on in search for a goal and no doubt open up the game to create chances for Boudebouz and the lads. Don’t bank on Arsenal enigma Joel Campbell getting a run but throw the house on a Béticos win.
Arsenal (win) v Southampton @ $1.53 – The Emirates, 11.15pm Sunday
The boys are back and playing some good football. Normally I’d stay away from backing the Arsenal but it’s likely the viewers could be up and adds a little extra for your late night efforts. We could have had 7 or 8 vs CSKA midweek and throw Auba into the mix, I can’t see us losing this one at home. This run of form now extends to 5 wins in a row and the Saints come to the fortress after losing 3-0 last time out to an average West Ham. This could be kick them while they’re down jobby as Southampton could be in serious risk of the drop. COYG.
Valencia (win) v Espanyol @ $1.50 – Mestalla Stadium, 4.45am Monday
Bit of a gimme here and a nice little $1.50 to add to the multiplier. Valencia are looking in good shape and will want to continue to put pressure on the top four and extend an even bigger gap between them and fifth place. Parejo and Guedes will be feeding Rodrigo all day and he could be on for one or two goals here as he makes a claim for the upcoming World Cup. Espanyol have been poor on the road this term, averaging 0.71 points. I’m backing a 3-0 win for the home side.
Genclerbirligi v Galatasaray (win and over 2.5 goals) @ $2.25 – Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadium, 3.00am Tuesday
Onwards and upwards for Gala and their title charge. Belhanda, Feghouli and Gomis are running riot in the capital and a nice little homage to Le Professor, as we take a trip to his all time favourite nation of Turkey. With just six points separating the top 4, Gala will be going to battlers Genclerbirligi intending to take all 3 points as the home side contend with relegation. This is coming off 5 wins from their last 6, with form on their side it could be a 3-1 win as they don’t mind leaking a goal here and there. Look for Gomis to score to make it 15 from his last 10 matches. We will be splitting the pide over an apple tea with these tasty odds.
