Everton (win and over 1.5) v Huddersfield @ $1.87
Goodison Park, 12.00am Sunday
Everton are my second team this year, I’ve always wanted to see Theo get a run in a team that was able to play on the break. In the first 3 games he’s scored 2 and had an assist, looking arguably their best player. I would’ve taken over 2.5 here but Richarlison is out with a red card and I’m not confident enough to count on a goal from an awful Huddersfield.
Prediction: 2 – 0
Crystal Palace (win) v Southampton @ $1.95
Selhurst Park, 12:00am Sunday
Cheering on a multi last weekend we watched Crystal Palace travel to Watford and by enlarge, look the better team. Even with Zaha kicked out of the game, it could’ve been all over in the first 20 minutes with a number of good chances and what should’ve been a red.
Palace notoriously play well at home and Henry was famously quoted as saying after Highbury it was his favourite ground to play at for atmosphere. All the usual suspects from last week with Zaha, Townsend and Benteke causing problems and a boost having max Meyer to bring into the XI.
Prediction: 2 – 0
Levante v Valencia (BTTS and over 2.5) @ $2.20
Estadi Ciutat de Valencia, 8:00pm Sunday
What a kick off time. If I can get us to this leg we have Los Che’s over the Sunday roast bringing us to the main event of arsenal at 10:30pm. Valencia have been a bit of a mixed bag this year, drawing with Atletico Madrid and then losing to Espanyol, although comforting for the Average Punters is that they have been creating plenty of chances.
Levante were beaten at home to Celia Vigo but created 21 chances and dusted Real Betis away in week one, 3-0. I’m predicting 2-1 Valencia here but could easily be more.
Prediction: 1 – 2
Cardiff v Arsenal (win and Aubameyang to score) @ $2.38
Cardiff City Stadium, Sunday 10:30pm
What a wrap up to the weekend. A few arsenal players have come out this week and said that they felt the pressure valve released after a scrappy win against the Hammers last weekend. Whilst Arsenal haven’t looked impressive, they have played three very good teams, all able to play at a level that would make adapting to a new system difficult. Enter Cardiff. Cardiff are awful. After losing to Bournemouth in the opening week 2 – 0 they have preceded to not take the maximum against two cellar dwellers, both of which played the game with 10 men. I think once we score early the game will open up and Emery will look to leave Auba on for as long as possible to give him that confidence defining goal that he needs at the moment.
Prediction: 0 – 3
