Betting tips, soccer previews and predictions
A self-imposed Serie A ban from Yogi is the result of Juve breaking our hearts last weekend as we fell at the last $1,200 hurdle. Upwards and onwards to this weekend where Yogi is in the spotlight and no spaghetti has resulted in a heavy French flavour.
Celta Vigo v Levante (BTTS and over 2.5) @ $1.70
Estadio Municipal de Balaidos, Saturday 9.00pm
This game is a bit of a scheduling nightmare, any later in the week and I would’ve been very tempted to back Levante but as it stands I’ll settle for goals. We’ve all but missed out on the end of season Levante cash cow but better late than never and I think this is a good start to the multi. They have won their last 5, and 8 out of their last 10, that form puts them at the top of the La Liga table if you were only counting these rounds. After a 9 goal thriller against Barca they’ll be full of confidence and I think there will be goals once again. The last time Celta were left scoreless at home was in March and I think they’ll definitely be good enough to score. I’m predicting an early goal in this one and the flood gates will open.
Leganes v Real Betis (win) @ $2.45
Estadio Butarque, Sunday 12.15am
After a strong start the season Leganes have faded and find themselves finishing the season in 17th. Betis on the other hand, went on a 6 game winning streak through March and April to cement their Europa league spot. After a couple of indifferent results they’ll be looking to finish a successful season strongly. While there’s nothing to play for either side, Betis’ class should prevail in this one.
Lyon v Nice (BTTS and over 2.5) @ $1.75
Stade des Lumieres, Sunday 5.00am
Without much left to play for across Europe this weekend we’ve found a meaningful game here. Lyon must win if they want to play in the Champions League next season and they lost for the first time in 8 games on the weekend. I believe that was a minor hiccup and their strong end of season form will continue. That being said, Nice will be looking to give their manager Lucian Favre a strong send off as he heads to Dortmund next season. Mario Balotelli has found some good form, scoring 4 in his last 3 games and another goal from him should see this one over the line.
Troyes v Monaco (win) @ $1.57
Stade de I’Aube, Sunday 5.00am
It’s as simple as this, Monaco must win to make sure they don’t need to go through qualification for Champions League and well, Troyes are battlers and as good as down. With a win they can make the playoff but as far as I’m concerned that’s beyond them. Monaco will have too much class in this one and $1.57 is too good to look past.
Toulouse v Guingamp (win or draw) @ $2.60
Stadium Municipal, Sunday 5.00am
Been going back an forth over this leg the last few days and this is what I’ve landed on. Guingamp find themselves making their punters club debut in the last round of the season needing a win or draw. I’ve had to fight the voices in my head telling me to back them for the win at $6.50 and I’ve settled for the double chance. Toulouse are sitting in the relegation playoff spot one point above Troyes. They’ll come out with everything to play for but with one eye on the Troyes game I think they’ll rest players as soon as they see Monaco get in front as they’ll need all hands on deck for the playoff game. While Guingamp have nothing to play for, their late season form has been impressive. They’ve beaten Monaco and drawn with PSG and Marseille in the last 4 games. This form should be good enough to at least get a draw against a Toulouse side that; a) is awful and b) could possibly rest players during the game.
