Betting tips, soccer previews and predictions
Huddersfield v Cardiff (BTTS – No and under 2.5) @ $1.91
John Smith’s Stadium, 12.00am Sunday
I’d rather leave John Terry alone with my girlfriend for the weekend than watch this game, it has 0-0 all over it. Most were surprised to see Huddersfield cling on to remain in the top flight last season, and it looks like Cardiff are early favourites for the drop this time out. To be fair, the Terriers have had to play Chelsea and City, getting toweled up on both occasions and it’s a must David Wagner gets something out of this game at home. Not known for their cutting edge in the final third, Huddersfield only managed 16 goals in their 19 home games and I think they may just scrape in one here at most with the game mostly made up of heavy touches in the middle (minus our Lord Voldemort).
Cardiff have been pretty dire in their first two fixtures, having only registered two shots on target in 180 minutes. Don’t bother switching over during this one, it’s going to be a non-eventful low scoring affair but a respectable $1.90 to hopefully lock down a tier 1 for the boys. A Stoke v Hull BTTS and over 2.5 @ $2.35 also crossed my mind but you can’t trust the orcs. – Big Show
Prediction: 1 – 0
Bournemouth v Everton (BTTS over 2.5) @ $1.95
Vitality Stadium, 12.00am Sunday
Back to the drawing board after a disgraceful individual multi last weekend and I just can’t go past this tasty little morsel. Both sides have had an impressive start to the season, both netting 4 goals in two games.
Callum Wilson has started the season on fire with 2 from 2 but the fire power doesn’t stop there, with Fraser and King looking sharp as well. While Everton have looked dangerous going forward, their defence still leaves a lot to be desired and away from home I don’t think they’re good enough to shut out a confident Cherries side. Marco Silva will turn to his golden child Richardson once again, and with a wealth of attacking options at his disposal, Eddie Howes boys could be in for a long afternoon. – Yogi
Prediction: 2 – 3
Napoli v AC Milan (BTTS and over 2.5) @ $2.10
Stadio San Paulo, 4.30am Sunday
I love a BTTS and over 2.5 when you have an attacking team playing away from home, but this game is even tastier when the home team is an expansive Napoli side. AC Milan have bought well over the past two summers and have finally recruited that missing piece, a goal-scoring 9 (who is well known in Naples) and they look like they could be ready to push for a top 4 spot. AC Milan have also brought in Bakayoko and Biglia to compliment an old fave 10 of mine, Hakan Çalhanoğlu. If we don’t see some magic from the Christmas ham expect if from my second fave under appreciated Turkish German.
Napoli are still dealing with both a new style of football under Ancelotti and losing Jorginho over the summer. Allan was good in their last outing but the defence was unorganised, and I expect AC Milan to, at the very least, open the game up but possibly cause an upset. – Conservative Dave
Prediction: 2 – 2
Watford v Crystal Palace (BTTS and over 2.5) @ $2.55
Vicarage Road, 10.30pm Sunday
No write up. $10 fine for Le Professor.
