Group Multi – Saturday 15 September 2018 ft. Hoffenheim, Leeds and more
Betting tips, soccer previews and predictions
Fortuna Düsseldorf v Hoffenheim (win) @ $1.91
Merkur Spiel Arena, 11:30pm Saturday
With the $40 multi in mind and my recent debut to the IYWNB (If You Were Never Born) club I’m relying on old faithful here. Coming off a good win at home I’m confident the Hoff can maintain the rage and build some momentum for their huge Champions League debut mid week. Szalai is in great form, bagging a double last time out, Bittencourt and Grillitsch also continue to build a good partnership through the middle of the park and with any luck we will see a glimpse of our boy Reiss Nelson.
As for Düsseldorf they’ve started slowly in their return to top flight football with a loss and a draw. While I don’t think they’ll disgrace themselves, a full of confidence Hoffenheim side will be far too strong this time out. – Yogi
Prediction: 1 – 3
Bournemouth v Leicester (BTTS and over 2.5) @ $2.15
Dean Court, 12.00am Sunday
Whilst Leicester’s record is 2-0-2 this year, it might not look much and has them sitting in 8th, at AP we pride ourselves on asking more questions than that. A 2 – 1 loss to Liverpool last match day that easily could’ve ended in a draw and 2 – 1 loss to Manchester United away in which Leicester created almost 60% more chances than the Red Devils, but most importantly scoring in all four games this season. Bournemouth sit 1 point higher than Leicester on the table going into this game but have been buoyed by a much easier start to the season, picking up a point against Everton who lost Richarlison in the 44th minute and were lucky enough to welcome a poor Cardiff to the Premier League. Bournemouth have scored 6 in 4 and are at home this week looking to bounce back from a tough trip to Stamford bridge.
Given Leicester’s leaky defence under Puel and Bournemouth struggling to keep clean sheets at home over the past year, we are looking at a BTTS and over 2.5 here. BTTS and over 2.5 goals have hit in 67% of Bournemouth 21 games and 81% of Leicester’s last 16 games respectively. Note: on during the arsenal game as an added bonus. – Conservative Dave
Prediction: 2 – 2
Millwall v Leeds (win) @ $2.40
The Den, 12.00am Sunday
This match features together two teams with completely contrasting philosophies. Millwall have a compact and rigid formation that focuses on pressing down oppositions and it does not lend itself to attacking football. Bielsa’s men focus on a high-intensity approach, in which fast, attacking passing and pressing are fundamental to how they play.
Whilst it will be a clash of philosophies, Millwall’s negative tactics lead me to believe this will be a close affair but ultimately Leeds will take it out. The international break would have done the Leeds players a world of good. – Le Professor
Prediction: 1 – 3
Espanyol v Levante (BTTS) @ $1.83
Cornellà-El Prat, 12.15am Monday
After searching high and wide I come back to Spain where I just can’t look past the numbers in this one. All of Levante’s last 8 games have seen over 2.5 goals and Espanyol have scored in all of their last 8 games. This is one where I could easily see the bookies set this market at the ~$1.60 mark so I think we are getting some real value here.
Rubi has brought a real attacking philosophy to Espanyol and I see them taking the game to Levante from kick-off, especially in front of their home fans with key summer signing Iglesia firing on all cylinders. This will set up an open game with Real Madrid loanee Borja Mayoral joining Roger Marti as their man attacking threats who will certainly be afforded chances as neither side will settle for a draw. – Big Show
Prediction: 2 – 1
